Bicentennial in Rutland
This issue presents a pictorial review of Rutland’s celebrations of Vermont’s joining the Union in 1791, with numerous groups participating in honoring the Constitution and reading the Bill of Rights.
Initial pages open with preparations for the events, and a partial reproduction of the Constitution. These are followed with pictures representing Schools participating in numerous activities follow, including Christ the King, Mount St. Joseph Academy and Rutland High School.
Endless numbers at the Vermont State Fair ; Raising the Flag in Depot Park; giving Prayers of Thanksgiving in local Churches; attending a Bicentennial luncheon; and lastly agrand finale featuring the Rutland City Band in Main Street Federal Park bring this photographic tribute to a close.
